Cedar City's Chamber of Commerce and Tourism offices are housed in this spacious 18,000-square-foot visitor center. The building also houses a Daughters of Utah Pioneers Museum and many visitor and public amenities. The building was designed to show Iron County's historical connections in a stately, current setting. The shapes and materials link the building to the county's past, while the steel structure, open plan, sophisticated lighting, and architect-designed furnishings anchor the project firmly and graciously in the present.
A full-length monitor skylight runs the span of the great hall. It provides diffused natural illumination all year round. All furniture and casework were designed, detailed, and specified by the architect.
A large, interactive topographic model of Iron County is housed in the map room. The room also offers a map library and a view of the historic buildings at Iron Mission State Park, located just north of the ICVC.
