





The towering sandstone cliffs that dominate the landscape in Springdale, Utah, are the design catalyst for this custom home. Coupled with the needs of the clients, the architect has designed a home to embrace the grandeur of the surroundings while supporting a unique, comfortable and functional living space.
Computer renderings are an innovative way to illustrate interior as well as architectural possibilities. In this case, the clients’ extensive library is an integral part of the interior design.
Light pollution is a concern for the building authority in Springdale. Computer renderings were produced to illustrate the home’s night light spill, first with shades raised then with shades lowered. The site plan was determined in part with a solar study tracking the path of sunlight across the lot on days of summer and winter solstices and spring and fall equinoxes.
